HALLAM BOYS VS PALMERSTON NORTH BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL (NZ) 3-0

April 14th 2010

Hallam boys started the game in a positive manner – having good ball control in the first ten minutes.  Palmerston also were dangerous on occasions within that time as well.  On the 14th minute mark Daniel put away a goal around the keeper as he as running towards the 6 yard box.

We we’re one nil up.

The “first time” head coach, Mr Matassa ( myself), had a relieved look but he was well assisted by Tony,  Mr McIntosh,  Mr Goss and Mr Fardell.
We then dominated and controlled the play well for the majority of the first half.   Our positive talk with one another was fantastic and encouragement was great, especially from our strong defence.

At half time we were still wanting more – and after inspirational talks from Tony, Mcintosh and (head coach) Matassa the players continued to provide more opportunities to our strikers.

Our midfield held the ball very well and our ball distribution was better than the first half.

Soon enough Daniel had another goal to his name .  This was due to the fantastic support and supply from our hard working midfield and defence.
Our third goal was from Keegan but this was due to a superb free kick taken by Azim from outside the 18 yard box,  he “bend it like Beckham”,  it hit the crossbar, keeper beaten.  Bujar tried to score but then the quick and hungry Keegan ( like the famous Kevin Keegan  – champion England player of the 80’s ) slotted it through.

I would like to mention also a job well done by our keeper – Richard – a job well done!!!!

Our team was  – Richard, Ryan, Fabian, Milos, Cyrus, Keegan, Husan, Azim, Jamil, Daniel, Bujar, Zabi, Awal, Martin, Faiz,
Best  – Bujar , Milos, Daniel, Cyrus, Husan,
