The Hallam Senior College Girls' cricket team made it to their 5th State Final in a row.
Their first game was the semi final against Ballarat. Batting first we made 5/117 off our 20 overs. Karly Tapner top scored with 46 and Teagan Sheldon got 15. Both of them put on 62 runs in a partnership for the 3rd wicket. Some early wickets when bowling by Sherridan Murphy(2/12 off 4 overs) put pressure on Ballarat and they never recovered, finishing 4/81 off their allotted overs.
A very good performance with the ball by all the girls who bowled.
This win allowed us to play Mildura in the State Final. Bowling first the girls did a fantastic job getting steady wickets and keeping it tight in the field with a couple of run outs. Best of the bowler were Sherridan with 2/8 off 4 overs, Ebony Wroe 3/13 off 3 overs & Teagan 1/12 off 4 overs.
Chasing 65 runs to win we lost a couple of early wickets which put us under pressure but partnerships by Kailey/Teagan & Kailey/Ebony kept us on track.
As the overs went by the momentum swung both ways and the game went down to the final over. Unfortunately we could not get the required runs and fell 5 short. Kailey Rotheram finished 20no.
