GAT Important Information Session

All students in Victoria complete the GAT at the same time and day.
Important details of the GAT will be provided through a GAT information session for all students who need to complete the GAT.
Session Details:
When: Wednesday, 16th September
Time: 10am- 11am
Where: Via WebEx if we are still in remote learning (link will be provided).
If we return to school, this session will occur on site at the college.
Who must complete the GAT and attend the information session?
- Any student undertaking a unit 3 / 4 sequence (i.e. year 12 Subject).
- Year 11 students undertaking a unit 3 /4 sequence.
- Students undertaking a 2nd year Scored VET Subject.
What is the GAT and what is it used for?
The GAT is a 3-hour test of your general knowledge and skills in:
- Written communication
- Mathematics, science and technology
- Humanities, the arts and social sciences.
The GAT is not a specific test about something you have learnt, it is very general.
This means that you cannot study specific content for the GAT, but students should complete past GAT assessments in order to understand how you will be assessed.
GAT results are used to check that your VCE Exams and School-based Assessments (SACs & SATs) have been accurately and fairly assessed.
This is more significant this year in our current climate.
