Our Girls’ Aussie Rules program have added to their impressive resume with another State title.

Playing at Maribyrnong Park in Monee Ponds, the girls had to first win their Semi Final against Ballarat HS.

The first quarter was a very tight contest with both sides scoring 1 goal each. We managed to kick 2 goals in the 2nd quarter and kept them to a point.

Ballarat kicked 2 goals in 3rd quarter and led by 1 point at the final change. The 4th quarter was a real arm wrestle for possession of the ball. We kicked 3 points and managed to repel attack after attack and the backline stood tall to deny them any score. Final score was Hallam 3.4.22 to  Ballarat 3.2.20.

Best players were Lauren Hojnacki, Katie Angelis, Teagan Sheldon, Karly Tapner and Jenna Edwards.
This win saw us book a place in the State Final against Greensborough HS.

We jumped out of the blocks kicking 6 goals to none and never looked back from there. We kept them scoreless until the last quarter  and the final scores were Hallam 12.5.77 to Greensborough 3.2.20.

Best players were Karly Tapner, Lauren Hojnacki, Cass Meads, Taylah Clayton, Bobbi Pollard, Maddi Martin, Katie Angelis.

Lauren Hojnacki received the medal for our best player on the day. A fantastic achievement by the girls to win their 4th state title in 5 years. The girls depart next weekend for Queensland to play in a tournament against some schools from the Sunshine Coast/Brisbane, looking to defend the shield they currently hold.

Congratulations to everyone involved.
