Hallam SC student Jake Johan has been awarded a Victorian School Sports Award for Rugby League.
The 2015 Victorian School Sports Awards were presented at a luncheon held in the Members’ Dining Room at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 15.
Jake’s award, known as a ‘Sporting Blue’ Award, recognises of a high standard of talent and dedication demonstrated by aspiring young athletes in Victorian government schools in their chosen sport.
Jake played in the Melbourne Storm 18 years squad and was part of the leadership group. He played very game during the season and won an award for Best Forward.
At Hallam, Jake captained the team in its inaugural year in the NRL GIO Schoolboys Cup and won MVP for the season.
Jake is a member of the 18 years Combined Affiliated States Australian Team and he won Best Representative Player of all NRL Victorian Teams in 2015.
Sports & Health Sciences Sub School Leader Jamie Fardell was there to accept the award on Jake’s behalf as he was unable to attend the ceremony.
