The Nextgen Challenge was an intense educational program run by Illuminate Education at Hallam Senior College from the 15th to 19th of May.
Thirty-two Year 10 students and 4 Year 11 student coaches attended the event for the entire week with guest groups of students from Keysborough High School and Dandenong High School. The students worked in groups to develop a business model to compete against each other.
Illuminate Nextgen Challenge equips students to be innovative, creative and entrepreneurial during this five-day program where the students go through the process of starting their own business in their community.
The event finished on the Friday night with awards presented in many different business categories to the competitors.

“The Challenge taught us a lot about how businesses operate. We also learnt teamwork and how to work under pressure to meet deadlines. This program was very useful and I would recommend it to anyone in preparation for employment”.
