On Tuesday 17th the girls cricket team competed in the Sth Metro finals. Their first game was against McKinnon.
Winning the toss and batting first we batted our full amount of 20 overs and finished on 3/150. There were some good partnerships throughout the innings and Sherridan Murphy top scored with a very good 52. Teagan Sheldon made 23 and Ebony Wroe 19no with some good hitting at the end.
Defending this total we got off to a fantastic start having the opposition 4/10 early and they never recovered, eventually being all out for 62. Best of the bowlers was Ebony with the sensational figures of 4/4 off 4 overs. Five other girls also chipped in with a wicket each. This win put us into the final against MacRobertson girls school.
We won the toss and batted first again and lost Sherridan second ball of the innings but this bought Brittany Partington to the crease who proceeded to play some very attacking cricket and quickly made 33 (including one very big six). Ebony & Teagan then started what would prove to be a match winning partnership off 113 runs with Ebony getting 50no & Teagan 44no.
The team finished with 2/165 off 20 overs. Macrob came out blasting and raced to 33 runs before we got our first wicket but from that point on we gained control and kept them to 7-84 of their allotted overs.
Best of the bowling was Teagan with 4/13 off 4 overs. The girls now play in the State qrt final on Monday against Catholic College Sale.
