The College has arranged free workshops that will provide students with strategies to increase their ability to well on the GAT.
What is the GAT?
The General Achievement Test (GAT) is used by VCAA to help calculate student study scores and if required ‘derived’ subject scores when students are legitimately unable to complete a VCAA exam.
In order for students to obtain a high study score they will also need to do well on the GAT.
Practice GAT
Hallam Senior College provided a practice GAT day for students on the 18th of May. This was very well attended by students.
Individual student assessment and feedback will be available prior to the GAT workshops.
GAT Workshops
To follow up the practice GAT and further support students to do their best the College has also arranged free workshops that will provide students with strategies to increase their ability to well on the GAT.
Multiple sessions have been arranged to accommodate a variety of student availability.
The details are:
Tuesday 14th June:
8:30 – 9:55am English / Arts
11:30 – 12:55pm Maths and logic
Wednesday 15th June:
8:30 – 9:55am English / Arts
10:25 – 11:50am Maths and logic
Who: Available for all students currently completing a Unit 3 VCE and / or VCE/VET subject.
How: Sign up sheets are available in Sub School offices. Sign up by Wednesday 8th June.
Students are encouraged to make the most of these fantastic opportunities.
