The Girls’ Aussie Rules squad recently returned from another successful and enjoyable Queensland Trip.

The trip started with a game against Mountain Creek SS from Mooloolaba on Monday 8th Spetember. They are the current State Champions up there and are playing off for the title next week. We played the game at their school to help promote their girls football program. It was a fantastic game with both sides throwing everything at each other in the first half.

Scores at half time were Hallam 27 v Mountain Creek 23. We managed to keep them scoreless in the 3rd qrt while we kicked 2 more goals. The last qrt we finally broke them and went on to win 61 to 25. It was played in great spirit and both schools have developed a strong relationship over the past 4 years.

The scores didn’t reflect the tightness of the contest. Lauren Hojnacki received the medal for our best player. Others to feature in the best players were: Karly Tapner, Cass Meads, Teagan Sheldon, Ebony Wroe.

On Tuesday we went to Mountain Creek Primary School and conducted AFL clinics. Once again they were really impressed with how our Girls ran them and the initiative they showed to develop the activities.

Wednesday was their free day so we went to Dreamworld for the day.

The girls were great ambassadors for our school and program.

A special thank you to our sponsors, without their support the trip would not be possible.
